Description

The General Services Administration (GSA), on behalf of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), is conducting market research to support the Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team (START) VI within Region 4. The EPA's Superfund program is responsible for cleaning up some of the nation's most contaminated land and responding to environmental emergencies, oil spills, and natural disasters. The overall goal of this initiative is to ensure that hazardous waste sites are managed in a way that protects human health and the environment.

The work being requested involves comprehensive technical support for EPA's Superfund program. This includes performing site assessments, collecting and analyzing environmental data, evaluating potential risks to human health and the environment, and developing appropriate response strategies. The START VI team will be instrumental in providing technical expertise during emergency responses, ensuring that all actions taken are scientifically sound and legally compliant.

Additionally, the work requires collaboration with various stakeholders including federal, state, local agencies, community groups, and potentially responsible parties to facilitate effective communication and coordination during site assessments and clean-up operations. The contractor will need to demonstrate proficiency in environmental science disciplines such as chemistry, biology, geology, hydrology, toxicology as well as experience with regulatory compliance related to hazardous waste management.
