Posted: Oct. 18, 2024, 4:50 p.m. EDT

The purpose of this modification is to answer questions received by the due date/time.

  1. Do you have or can you please provide the height (number of floors) and square footage for each of the 5 locations (buildings). This would allow us to provide you with an accurate quote.
    1. Building cleaning for Main Bldg and OP Pharmacy - (Bldg. 20) 80' width, 147' depth, 40' height
    2. Building cleaning for Eye Clinic - (Bldg. 29) 90' width, 136' depth, 32' height
    3. Building cleaning for Audiology - (Bldg. 30) 77' width, 113' depth, 21' height
    4. Building cleaning for Cancer Bldg - (Bldg. 31) 87' width, 70' depth, 72' height
    5. Building cleaning for Valor Bldg - (Bldg. 32) 135' width, 80' depth, 72' height
  2. If the contractor does not currently hold an OSHA 30 safety card but is willing to secure a card upon being awarded, would the absence of the card eliminate a contractor from being evaluated?
    1. Contractors may still be considered without presenting the OSHA 30 safety card but must have at least one person with OSHA 30 card upon being awarded.
  3. Night Cleaning: Is it possible for us to clean the facility during the night? This would allow us to work without affecting the flow of people into and out of the buildings.
    1. Work at the outlying buildings; Eye Clinic, Audiology, Cancer Building, Valor Building and Outpatient Pharmacy, may be done at night because these buildings are not occupied at night. Work on the North side of the Main building may also be done at night due to minimal patient in that area of the hospital.
  4. Local Regulations: Are there any local regulations that would prohibit us from using the equipment during the night?
    1. City of Loma Linda Ordinance 9.20.050 covers prohibited noises. 9.20.060 covers noise level measurement criteria, stating that Any noise level measurement, made pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, shall be determined by using a sound level meter that meets the minimum requirements of the American National Standard Institute for sound level meters, or by using an equivalent instrument with associated recording and analyzing equipment that provides equivalent data. Noises considered to be a nuisance between the hours of ten p.m. and seven a.m. is prohibited.
  5. Noise Concerns: We understand this is a fully functioning hospital and do not want to disrupt any patients in the main building. We can easily schedule or adjust the pressure to gently clean the windows with minimal noise.
    1. There will be areas in the hospital that it's beneficial to adjust the pressure to gently clean the windows with minimal noise. Specifically in the Community Living Center area, 2 south, 3 south and 4 south.
  6. Holiday Work: Would there be any opposition to us performing the work over the Labor Day holiday weekend (e.g., August 30th - September 2nd)?
    1. Working during the holidays and weekend will be allowed. That work will be scheduled in advance with the COR.
  7. Another question that was asked during the job walk was if all areas are required to be cleaned with the drone.
    1. The Community Living Center area, Audiology, and Eye Clinic are single story. If the contractor is able to access those areas, they may be pressure washed without the use of a drone.
  8. Drawings for all buildings that are included in the building cleaning project.
    1. Attached to this RFQ

Background
The purpose of this contract is to have a contractor furnish all labor, materials, equipment, services, tools, incidentals, and supervision required to pressure wash the buildings that are on campus to include the Main Building, Eye Clinic, Audiology, Cancer Building, and the Valor Building. The buildings require routine pressure wash cleaning to eliminate dirt, dust, spiderwebs, etc., and improve the overall appearance of the buildings. The use of a drone with a water supply hose 'tethered' to it supplying the nozzle of the hose with filtered and heated water is the safest and least evasive way to perform building cleaning. The latest drone cleaning technology eliminates the need for extra equipment to access hard-to-reach areas.
