Description

The Department of Justice (DOJ), through the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to seek expertise for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FPI) regarding their SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The primary objective is to enhance the current configurations and operations of FPI's SAP system by leveraging senior-level consultancy. This initiative aims to optimize various modules such as Production Planning, Sales and Distribution, Material Management, Payroll, and General Ledger, which are integral to FPI's business processes.

The contractor will be responsible for assisting with the configuration of SAP in a corrections environment, ensuring inmate security while facilitating business process improvements. This includes providing troubleshooting assistance, managing upgrades and patching, and transferring knowledge to FPI staff. The role requires a deep understanding of third-party software integrations and SAP API integration with U.S. Treasury G-Invoicing. Furthermore, the contractor will offer project management expertise by coordinating efforts across functional and technical teams.

Key tasks include providing senior-level guidance on the development or configuration of the SAP ERP system, supporting supply chain management processes, materials management, production planning, and ensuring efficient operation during support pack or version updates. The contractor will also be expected to provide recommendations for improving system performance while maintaining administrative coverage in collaboration with primary administrators.

The contract allows for telework but may require occasional travel to FPI Central Office in Washington D.C., or other field locations as needed. The period of performance is set for one base year with two optional twelve-month extensions. Candidates must be U.S. citizens capable of obtaining security clearance and should possess relevant experience in information technology or related fields.
