DOJ BOP - Accreditation Services - MRAS

The Department of Justice (DOJ), through the General Services Administration (GSA), is conducting market research to identify potential contractors capable of providing accreditation services for the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). As a key component of the DOJ, the BOP operates as the sole federal prison system in the United States, with a mission centered on maintaining a humane and secure environment for incarcerated individuals while ensuring public safety and facilitating successful reentry into society. To support this mission, the Program Review Division (PRD) within BOP plays a crucial role by overseeing internal audits and engaging external auditing entities to ensure transparency and compliance with best practices.

The primary objective of this solicitation is to procure services from an independent third-party contractor to conduct facility-specific audits across all BOP facilities. These audits will be based on correctionally minded best practice standards. The contractor will be responsible for evaluating BOP policies and procedures against industry-recognized standards, providing a comprehensive accreditation program that certifies compliant facilities. Furthermore, the contractor must demonstrate capabilities in documenting non-compliance areas, assisting in corrective action planning, and reassessing facilities post-corrective action to determine eligibility for certification or accreditation.
