The Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) is seeking enhancements to its emergency dispatch communications center infrastructure. The upgrades are necessary to increase backup radio and interoperability capabilities. The existing system consists of a Motorola MCC7500 / VPM Elite console operating on a shared Motorola ASTRO25 I&VD M Core 7.19 Trunked Radio Network. The enhancements will involve integrating Motorola APX radio consolette resources into the dispatch environment and existing radio network. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, provisioning, configuration, project management, and travel required to complete the project.

The work will take place at the GGNRA dispatch center located at 35 Mesa St. in San Francisco, California. The contractor will need to install a conventional channel gateway (CCGW) and supporting infrastructure cables or equipment to link it into the existing radio infrastructure. They will also need to install a self-standing or guide-wired antenna tower capable of supporting the proposed antennas, cabling, and hardware. The contractor will be responsible for labeling all cables, providing external cable management systems, and installing approximately 100' coax cable and connectors for each antenna.

The project will require coordination with Lawrence Livermore National Security (LLNS), as they own, manage, and operate the core of the radio network. LLNS staff will need to provide technical assistance to facilitate the installation and configuration of the additional infrastructure proposed in this project. Safety is a top priority, and the contractor must ensure that all personnel have the necessary equipment and training to work safely at heights. Access to the work site is limited, and all personnel must undergo background checks before being allowed entry.

Overall, this opportunity presents a significant undertaking to enhance the emergency dispatch communications center infrastructure at GGNRA by integrating Motorola APX radio consolette resources into the existing system. The contractor will need to provide labor, provisioning, configuration, project management, and travel to complete the project. The work will take place at the GGNRA dispatch center in San Francisco, and coordination with LLNS will be necessary. Safety and security protocols must be followed, including background checks for all personnel accessing the work site.
