620A4-15-121 Relocation of Radiology

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2), Hudson Valley Healthcare System VA Medical Center, Castle Point, NY, is initiating a project to relocate the existing radiology x-ray equipment from Building 17 second floor to the ground floor. This relocation aims to ensure that the equipment does not exceed the weight loading of the floor and to improve patient flow throughout the hospital. The project will result in a complete central imaging/Radiology suite in Building 18D.

Work Details
The Architectural/Engineering (A/E) Firm is tasked with providing all necessary surveys, calculations, field investigations, design, drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates for relocating the Radiology and Imaging Suite from the second floor of Building 17 to the ground floor of Building 18 at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Castle Point, New York. The affected area is approximately 5,240 square feet.

Deliverables include:
- Preliminary Field Surveys and Reports
- Design and drawing of the new Radiology and Imaging suite including scheduling area, restrooms near ultrasound rooms, handicapped restroom near Rad/Fluoro room, Radiologists’ offices with appropriate wall paint
- Plumbing system design
- Sealing building exterior against air, sound, and water
- Fire system design (e.g., sprinklers)
- Electrical service drawings including full electrical diagrams for required voltages
- Compliance with NFPA codes
- Site assessment for upgrading suite components
- Specification and design meeting VA Sustainable Design Manual criteria and ASHRAE 90.1 compliance
- Survey for mold, asbestos, lead, and PCB hazards by a qualified NYS licensed Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Adherence to VA A/E Design Submission Requirements
- Energy baseline calculations and life cycle cost analysis as part of project documents.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of One thousand Ninety (1090) calendar days.
