USGS EROS LNext MOC Vendor (Industry) Studies   2

Background
This is a pre-solicitation announcement notifying firms that the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is planning to release a solicitation for industry studies related to the Landsat Next (LNext) Mission Operations Center (MOC).

The USGS is responsible for the ground system of the LNext mission, which will have multiple satellites in a constellation and autonomous on-board operations.

The USGS is interested in exploring technologies and systems that can support the new LNext operations concept using efficient and effective methods.

In February 2023, USGS released a Landsat Next MOC Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry input, and now they are seeking additional information on cost-effective MOC architectures and design concepts for constellation operations.

Work Details
The USGS is partnering with NASA for the development of the LNext mission.

The funded studies are needed to obtain additional information necessary to understand industry capabilities, including candidate architectures, design concepts, and associated costs for the development and operations phases of the mission.

The USGS anticipates awarding up to 10 firm fixed-price contracts as a result of this solicitation.

Period of Performance
The anticipated period of performance for the resulting award(s) is four months, estimated from February 1, 2024, to May 31, 2024.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the contractor's location.
