Dental Sensors

Background
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), specifically the VISN 22 Network Contracting Office, is seeking sources capable of providing Dental Sensors for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System. The goal of this contract is to acquire dental sensors that meet specific technical requirements to enhance patient comfort and operational efficiency in dental imaging.

Work Details
The contract involves the procurement of DEXIS Sensors IXS Size 2 with the following specifications:
- Quantity: 8 units
- Salient Characteristics:
- Must have no pointed edges; smooth rounded corners and edges are required for patient comfort.
- Cable diameter must be 3mm or less for ease of positioning and increased viewable anatomy.
- Must be lightweight to prevent cable damage and jaw fatigue.
- Large sensor dimensions: at least 30.4 x 42.3 mm with an active area of at least 26.0 x 36.0 mm.
- Small sensor dimensions: no larger than 25.3 x 37.1 mm with an active area of at least 20.2 x 30.1 mm.
- Sensor pixel size must not exceed 19.6 micrometers.
- USB port cable length must be no less than 2.5m, made from reinforced material to prevent damage.
- Direct connection to computer via one USB cable without breaks that could cause connectivity errors; must not require a powered USB hub to operate, relying solely on power from the computer's USB port.
- Compatibility with MiPACS for efficient image capture is required.
- Vendors must offer extended warranty options.
