The Department of Defense (hereafter called Department of War (DoW)) requires Development, Security, and Operations (DevSecOps) software products and services. DevSecOps is an organizational software engineering culture and practice that aims at unifying software development, security, and operations. The main characteristics of DevSecOps is to automate, monitor, and apply security at all phases of the software development lifecycle: plan, develop, build, test, release and deliver, deploy, operate, and monitor. This framework automates the integration of security from the initial design through integration, testing, deployment, and software delivery.
