The objective of our first venture will be to streamline the preventative maintenance (PM) process as it relates to logistics and specifically tailored to DoD sector. Our research into this military channel has uncovered a parallel application in the commercial sector as well. The venture will push modern data analytics and machine learning/artificial intelligence by using Augmented Reality (AR) goggles that are designed to give technician's the ability to query for maintenance-assistance via quick, hands-free (voice command). The goggles will serve as a data input device to feed video and voice data into a backend database that will use machine learning research along with standard machine learning techniques. The computations conducted will help both the central maintenance system and technicians with resource allocations. Our group plans to spring from the adoption of AR technology to VR technology as data and PM processes begin their paradigm shift.
